Margaret Ann Gibson was born in Stirlingshire, Scotland, and grew up in Balfron, near Loch Lomond. She was educated there and later at Montrose Academy in Angus, later still in Stevenage, Hertford and Cambridge. She has been writing, or wanting to write, for as long as she can remember, "probably since I learned to read." Named after her maternal grandmother, Maggy-Ann, she is also known to older friends by her family name,
Ann Bremner.
Mother of two children now grown-up, she became a teacher of English and French, however, she has worked in a variety of occupations in England, Scotland, the U.S.A., Mexico and Australia.
'Like Circling Birds' is the first of her three Scottish novels and was originally entitled 'Feydom.' Published in hardback by Magdalen Publishing amd available through bookshops or the internet, a paperback edition is also now available. Details of the second, 'Between The Waves,' and the third, 'An Intimate Space,' will be available in due course.
